This immersive journey takes members deep into the heart of Kenya’s wildlife conservation efforts, providing exclusive access to some of the country’s most important projects. The trip offers a chance to visit wildlife sanctuaries and meet with community leaders to learn about their sustainable efforts in preserving Kenya’s rich biodiversity. In addition to hands-on activities, members will be treated to Kenya’s renowned hospitality in its most luxurious accommodations. Itinerary:
- Day 1-2:
- Arrive in Nairobi and check into Giraffe Manor, one of the most Instagrammable hotels in the world, known for its resident herd of endangered Rothschild giraffes. This charming, boutique hotel offers guests the unique experience of having breakfast with giraffes poking their heads into the dining room.
- After settling in, guests will enjoy a private dinner on the manor’s terrace while hearing from conservationists about Kenya’s efforts to protect its endangered wildlife. A visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to interact with orphaned baby elephants will follow.
- Day 3-5:
- Fly to the Angama Mara, a luxury lodge set on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, overlooking the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The lodge is famed for its breathtaking views, luxurious tented suites, and personalized safari experiences. Over the next three days, guests will embark on private game drives to witness the Maasai Mara’s incredible wildlife, including the Big Five and the annual wildebeest migration.
- Members will also visit local Maasai communities to understand their role in wildlife conservation and how sustainable tourism benefits their livelihoods. A private dinner under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the savannah, will cap each day.
- Day 6-7:
- Transfer to Ol Donyo Lodge, located in the Chyulu Hills, with sweeping views of Mount Kilimanjaro. This Relais & Châteaux property is part of the Great Plains Conservation project, dedicated to preserving vast tracts of land and protecting endangered species. Members will engage with local Maasai on community conservation projects, including educational programs for local children and efforts to protect elephants from poaching.
- Private horseback safaris, game drives, and guided bush walks provide a unique way to experience Kenya’s wilderness. The trip ends with a memorable sundowner at a scenic lookout, followed by a gourmet farewell dinner.
